There is no need for me to review other online poker rooms as Full Tilt Poker is by far the best online poker room out there, either for pure entertainment or winning big money.
Full Tilt Poker has been in the online poker market for just under five years, but has already made an immense impact and built a solid brand. They are the one of the highest trafficked poker site, so you will never have to worry about finding a game. The reason I have rated Full Tilt Poker as my #1 overall online poker room is primarily because of their great software, access to US players and their extensive tournament lineup.

The brainchild of poker professionals Howard Lederer and Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Full Tilt Poker came onto the online poker scene in 2004. At that time no other poker site had anywhere near the star-studded lineup of sponsored poker players that Full Tilt rolled out. In addition to the aforementioned you had Phil Ivey, Clonie Gowen, Erick Lindgren, Jennifer Harman, John Juanda, Phil Gordon, and Andy Bloch. That list has grown over the last four years to include many other professional players to include Mike “The Mouth” Matusow and Patrik Antonius as well numerous other “Red Pros” as they are called from the online ranks. They each have a table named after them and anytime you see a table highlighted in red you can choose to sit down and play with them (provided your bankroll is sufficient).
Full Tilt Poker runs on exclusive software that was created by TiltWare, LLC. Taking the collective input from the Team Full Tilt pro players, this application was built from the ground up to offer a unique playing experience like no other site. Users get to choose several different table views as well as a collection of animated avatars to reflect their individuality.
For those that want to look like the pros, the Full Tilt store is excellent, offering players all sorts of FTP merchandise from clothing, electronics, books, DVDs to luxury items that can be bought with their Full Tilt Poker points.
The only stuff if I really want to nit pick is the lack of phone support and no non-download software. However, their email support is quite responsive and fast, so customer service is not bad. The size of the software is not too big and easily installed too. There is even a walk-through provided and has great mini-view functions for multi-tabling.
Overall, Full Tilt Poker delivers what you expect – plenty of tables and games to pick from, a strong pro presence to give you the cool “poker experience” and a chance to watch some super sick games at the marquee $500/$1,000 No-Limit Hold’em tables. The hard work and huge advertising budget has definitely paid off, as real-money player statistics as of July 2009 show 10,500 ring-game players at peak hours and 70,000 tournament players at peak hours.
The site’s famous catchphrase is “Learn, chat and play with the pros,” and they definitely live up to it, with the main sponsored team plus with a growing list of Full Tilt “red pros” found playing regularly at a variety of limits.
