How fast am I going to learn to play?
Depends how fast you want to read and understand the material. Everybody’s learning style is different, and there is no right or wrong way. Some people read a little, then they start playing the very same night. Others like to read more and really understand the concepts before trying it out with real money. It depends on you, but I have had successful students improve their game the very same day they bought the book!
So I get more than one book?

Is this for online or offline poker?
